“Especially now, every contribution truly makes an impact,” said Kara Kane, director of annual giving and stewardship. “Every donor makes a difference at Daemen.”
Just after midnight, the first gifts arrived in a sudden burst—and kept on coming during the small hours—from around the country.
Before noon, the annual fundraising effort had already met its donor goal and surpassed 2019’s total.
By day’s end, the 2021 Daemen Day of Giving had broken all previous college records for a 24-hour period, with more than 680 gifts supporting student scholarships, athletics, critical support services, and student support.
“The day rallied together the Daemen community—on a local and national level— in such a unique and positive way,” said Jill Robins, associate vice president for advancement and special events.
In 2021, participation among alumni, students, trustees, faculty, and staff surpassed all previous years’ marks—an impressive feat given the event’s pandemic-related hiatus in 2020.
