In conjunction with the Athletic Department’s new partnership with ADPRO Team Sports, a new, primary Daemen Wildcats logo was introduced to the campus community in January along with several secondary logos. The new logo is similar to the previous one with a snarling cat perched atop a new banner, this one highlighting the logo’s attachment to Daemen College, according to Athletic Director William Morris.
“We wanted to take the best features of the previous logo and incorporate them into this re-branded logo,” Morris said. “We also wanted to emphasize the use of ‘Daemen College’ in the logo itself. There are a lot of teams out there who call themselves the Wildcats and we want absolutely no confusion about who we are when our coaches are out recruiting and when our student-athletes are representing the College.”
The primary logo was conceived as part of the College’s efforts to re-brand and re-market the Athletic Department, moving forward in anticipation of acceptance to the ranks of NCAA Division II this summer. The incorporation of several other secondary logos, primarily for the purpose of athletic apparel, mirrors the recent trends of college athletic departments to put forth as many versions of their respective logos as possible.
Additionally, new athletic apparel can now be purchased through the Daemen College Athletic Department. Simply go to www.daemen.edu/athletics/merchandise to view order forms for both men’s and women’s athletic apparel featuring the new Wildcat logos.
