Daemen College opened its new Graduate Studies Technology Center (GSTC), a part of a major effort to advance technology infrastructure for the college’s growing graduate programs, at a celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony held during the spring semester.
As part of the opening celebration, State Senator Michael Ranzenhofer was honored for his efforts in obtaining $480,000 in funding for Daemen’s Graduate Studies Technology Initiative
In addition to the GSTC, the state grant has been used for several other key improvement projects, including renovation of a graduate distance learning lab/classroom used by Daemen’s graduate nursing program and other graduate program faculty and students; and reconstruction of the college’s main server to enhance technology resources for graduate programs across campus.
The grant also provided support for a new state-of-the art graduate studies technology lecture hall in the college’s Research and Information Commons, and permanent fiber and network upgrades to existing technology infrastructure in the primary graduate student academic buildings.
