The Daemen College Wildcats men’s and women’s basketball teams have won the 2015 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Tournament, marking the first-ever championship title for the men’s basketball team and the second for the women’s team. Gerald Beverly and Raeann Stillwell were named 2015 USCAA Division I Basketball National Championship Most Valuable Players.

In another national win, the men’s golf team captured its third consecutive USCAA National Championship. Daemen President Gary A. Olson and Dr. Lynn Worsham hosted a reception at Daemen House, the presidential residence, to celebrate the championship wins of the men’s and women’s basketball and the men’s golf team.

“This season, these teams have clearly demonstrated that Daemen is ready to compete as a full NCAA Division II member,” said Olson. “I’m very proud of our student-athletes and how well they performed this year, both on their team and in the classroom.”

Bridget Niland, director of athletics, said, “What these teams have accomplished is remarkable. These championships are a reflection of the dedication, skill and perseverance of all the coaches and student-athletes.”
