As a 2015–16 College of Distinction, Daemen has been honored for its exemplary commitment to student engagement, great teaching, creating a vibrant campus community, and successful outcomes.
Other recent recognitions include:
- Daemen has been selected by Victory Media for the seventh consecutive year as a Military Friendly School. The national designation is awarded to top colleges, universities, community colleges, and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace student veterans and have dedicated resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.
- The college’s efforts to reduce food waste, which has resulted in more than 3 tons of food that has been diverted to composting over the past three years, has been recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 2. The distinction was awarded in honor of Daemen’s exceptional efforts in the EPA’s Food Recovery Challenge (FRC), a part of the Sustainable Materials Management Program that seeks to reduce wasted food.
- Daemen is the only institution in New York State to be selected as one of the top “50 Best Value Small Colleges” in the U.S. for both business administration and biology degrees by Best Value Schools, an online guide to the best values in college education across the country.
- Daemen has been ranked one of the top “50 Most Affordable Small Colleges for a Human Resources Degree” in the U.S. by HumanResourcesMBA.net, making Daemen the only institution in NYS to receive this distinction.
