Strength, resiliency, and momentum are three words that often come to mind when highlighting a recent semester at Daemen. This issue of Daemen Today is no different as we commemorate our first official year as a university.

In every sense but name, Daemen has been a university for many years. The reaffirmation of our doctoral Carnegie classification, our multi- campus designation, the national successes of our talented student-athletes, along with numerous other national distinctions continue to elevate the university’s profile – not only regionally, but nationally, making this new name all the more fitting.

Our talented staff and dedicated faculty continue to think strategically and innovatively to meet the challenges facing higher education today. New program development – such as our proposed college of dental medicine – and other strategic projects and partnerships allow Daemen to continue to solidify its position as Western New York’s premier health sciences educator.

Through this growth and innovation came the important move from two divisions to four colleges and the hiring of four founding deans. These new leaders are charged with establishing strategic priorities for their respective colleges, as well as advancing the mission and vision of Daemen University.

All of this growth and success of Daemen would not be possible without your support. Our ability to navigate and thrive through the many challenges facing higher education is a testament to the commitment of our dedicated Daemen community. Thank you for being a part of our journey to becoming a university and for all that you do to make Daemen such a special place.
