Facing the coronavirus has brought many challenges to the world, including to Daemen students. Between the “new normal” brought on by the pandemic, rigorous academic studies, part-time jobs, clinicals, staying in shape and competitive for college athletics, and other aspects of their multifaceted lives, the current experience as a college student has not been easy.
This is why, in 2020, Daemen College launched an Emergency Tuition Fund to ease the financial burden of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the CARE Fund, established in 2017, assists students in emergency circumstances who require help quickly while facing major life challenges.
With businesses closing, job loss, and other unexpected financial and economic impacts of the global pandemic, Daemen recognizes the need to be supportive of students as they face new challenges and financial hardships that could prevent them from achieving their dreams of graduation.
Through these funds, students receive assistance with tuition as well as other costs associated with college life. Throughout the past several months, fundraising for the new Emergency Tuition Fund and CARE Fund has helped to lessen the financial burden on Daemen students and their families. Ongoing giving will ensure that students thrive and continue to contribute to the vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community found at the college.
