Three-time Olympic gold medalist and eight-time world champion LaShawn Merritt presented “The Merritt Mindset” to Daemen students in February 2026, inspiring attendees to channel their winning mindsets to achieve success.

The event, hosted by the Student Government Association, was scheduled in collaboration with

Daemen Athletics to enable student athletes to attend the presentation. 

Merritt engaged in a dialogue with the audience, relaying impactful life lessons gained throughout his career. He shared,“Success doesn’t come from one moment. It comes from how you show up every day.”
