Gary A. Olson President

As we prepare to enter our 80th year, I am filled with immense pride, gratitude, and optimism for our future. The momentum we created together has made a profound impact that continues to span generations. Our alums have gone on to make their mark on the world. They are leaders,

clinicians, creators, practitioners, and teachers. They are saving lives, helping others find their way, and improving the quality of life across communities.

Reflecting on the past year, I am particularly proud of our approval to offer our first academic PhD, in behavioral science, a major step forward for Daemen that continues to elevate our academic excellence. Additionally, with the departure of MusicalFare Theatre (a local nonprofit

group), I am delighted to have reclaimed Daemen Hall as a multipurpose hub for

learning, which is being transformed into the new home of the physician assistant program.

While we navigate the enrollment cliff impacting higher education, a nationwide decline in college-aged students by 400,000 stemming from the economic impact of the 2008 recession, we continue to move forward with purpose and conviction. In fact, we launched our five-year comprehensive campaign, Moving Forward, last fall, followed by our five-year strategic plan, Maintaining Momentum, and our master plan, Building on Momentum. It is unprecedented to launch three pivotal campaigns of this caliber in the same year, let alone in the same semester. This is a testament to our dedicated faculty and staff.

Our potential has never been fuller, and I am certain that we will experience unimaginable growth over the next five years with the leadership of our Board of Trustees and your support. Your commitment, generosity, and advocacy for this institution are invaluable to our ongoing sustainability and success.

Thank you for being such a significant part of our journey.

Forever Daemen,

Gary A. Olson
