Scott Bieler, Board of Trustees member and CEO and majority owner of West Herr Auto Group, was honored with the Presidential Medal—the university’s highest and most prestigious award—presented by President Gary A. Olson in June 2025.

Bieler is the fifth person among an elite group of exceptionally accomplished individuals to earn this rare distinction. The medal honors individuals who have made a significant effort to improve the quality of life in Western New York, have made contributions toward the growth and advancement of Daemen, and have invested substantial time, effort, or resources to improve the world and humanity.

“I am very touched by this, mostly because I’m so proud to be part of Daemen University,” said Bieler. “It’s a privilege. Kathy and I value what happens here—the values here, the quality of education students get here, the commitment from everyone who is part of this organization, including all of you, and especially, Gary for all you’ve given this wonderful university. It’s just an honor to be associated with this university.”
