Daemen physician assistant students perform simulated lumbar puncture procedure on a training model in the CILS

The Center for Interprofessional Learning and Simulation (CILS) at Daemen recently added

multiple point-of-care ultrasound-compatible training models, including a central line trainer, four peripheral IV insertion trainers, a lumbar puncture demonstration trainer, and five knee arthrocentesis models.

The equipment, primarily funded by a Daemen alum donor, as well as funds received from the 2025 Daemen Day of Giving, was selected by a team of physician assistant, physical therapy, and nursing faculty who conducted extensive research to determine the most effective models for training students in their respective programs.
